  • Workshop and Production Assistant

    $25 per hour, Casual Contract, Flexible Schedule, Shift Opt-In System

    In-Person (Ottawa, Locations vary)

Join our team as a Workshop and Production Assistant, where you'll play a pivotal role in creating captivating experiences and contributing to the production of our unique products.     Responsibilities:

    Workshop Support

    • Assist in the preparation and setup of workshop spaces, ensuring materials and equipment are ready for participants.
    • Provide hands-on support during workshops, guiding participants through the craft-making process and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
    • Engage with workshop participants, offering insights into the cultural significance of activities and facilitating respectful discussions on Indigenous traditions.

    Production Assistance

    • Contribute to the creation of Bougie Birch products, including DIY dreamcatcher kits and other art-based items.
    • Assist in material preparation, assembly, and quality control during the production process.
    • Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain product quality standards.

    Market Support

    • Set up and support pop-up workshops at markets.
    • Engage with customers and share information about Bougie Birch products and their cultural significance.
    • Manage electronic and cash payments.

    Administrative Tasks

    • Contribute to the creation of Bougie Birch products, including DIY dreamcatcher kits and other art-based items.
    • Assist in material preparation, assembly, and quality control during the production process.
    • Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain product quality standards.

    Qualifications & Personal Attributes:

    Qualifications

    • Experience in crafting, teaching or event assistance.
    • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Indigenous cultures.
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a team environment.
    • Reliable ability to commute across Ottawa (required)
